PLANT THE SEEDS OF KINDNESS: Ways you can help
SUMMIT AND MEDINA COUNTY BATTERED WOMEN'S SHELTERS help thousands of people every year to stand, find courage, grow, change and gain independence. With your help we can continue to keep a safe, healthy residence for those families who have chosen a violent-free life.
FINANCIAL DONATIONS
By Phone: For information about giving assets (including securities, cash, life insurance, real estate and retirement plans) and gifts of significance (such as planned giving programs like bequests, annuities, memorials and charitable trusts), contact The Battered Women’s shelter at 330-374-0740x 204 or by e-mail. These legacy gifts not only keep giving, but also may provide personal and estate tax incentives for you.
IN KIND DONATIONS
- Cell Phone Program: Please donate your gently used cell phones to The Battered Women's Shelter. The 911 Cell Phone Program allows BWS to recycle these phones, generating funds to help the Battered Women’s Shelter obtain new cell phones for our victims. At no charge, victims will have the security of knowing they are just a phone call away from help if they are threatened or are in danger.
- Holiday Giving: Each year around the holidays the Battered Women's Shelter needs the help of hundreds of community individuals and groups to ensure that all families residing in the shelter are able to experience the true meaning of the holiday season. If you are considering helping with our Holiday Giving Programs, please call or e-mail Polly and ask to receive the holiday giving brochure.
- Immediate Shelter Needs: Our shelters would not be able to provide essential items to new victims without your assistance. The following is an updated list of some of the items that are currently needed in the shelters for both children and adults.
