The BWS serves over 6,000 people each year who believe they are in danger of harm or even death if they stay at home. So they flee. They flee in the morning after an abuser has left for work. They flee at night when their attacker is asleep. Their destination is often unknown at the moment they walk out their door, but they flee believing that somewhere there must be a better life. At that life changing moment, these brave men, women and children often flee with only the clothes on their backs. They may carry a half-empty suitcase, but their courage could fill a stadium. In the past twelve months over 21,000 nights of safe shelter have been provided for individuals and families who faced this reality. Thank you for helping us to provide these valuable services.
